The new AIM beta will be showcased at TECH cocktail DC 6 on Thursday, August 27th in Washington, D.C. Come out to see the Running Man and learn about the new AIM beta with a bunch of developers, designers, innovators, entrepreneurs and technology enthusiasts.

Set your AIM status update and have it set on Twitter and Facebook too - no download required!

• Better Facebook sharing. Read only rights on your newsfeed - no more. We’ve updated our Facebook connect which now allows you to export more of your data. This update requires all users to re-add your Facebook account from Lifestream settings, even if you added it on a previous beta. As always, you can manage who sees your updates, click “Settings” next to Facebook once you’ve added your account.
• Easier status sharing. Now you can choose to set your AIM status message as your Facebook or Twitter status too. These preferences are available on http://lifestream.aim.com/settings. After you add your Facebook or Twitter accounts, click “Settings” and opt into pushing your AIM status to this service.
• Share your Diggs. Add your Digg account and share your Diggs with AIM Lifestream users. Now available on http://lifestream.aim.com/settings. Click Add and enter your account.

AIM is excited to introduce AIM Lifestream.  AIM Beta 7 has Lifestream seamlessly integrated into the Buddy List. Here’s some of the powerful things Lifestream brings to your AIM experience:

• Broadcast status updates to and from your AIM Buddies
• Add your Facebook and Twitter services so you never miss an update
• Leave comments on your friend’s status updates
• Supports YouTube and Delicious accounts; many more to come
• Powerful filtering tools enable you to focus on the Lifestream updates that are important to you
• Share photos on your lifestream (http://lifestream.aim.com). Look for the Photos section on the right of the page and start uploading.

• Post pictures from your status message by clicking the “What’s Happening Now” input area at the top of the Buddy List.

The new AIM has an updated look, a large collection of new themes, and an enhanced Buddy Info which showcases your Buddy’s Lifestream. And if you also consider that its been fine-tuned for performance and speed, you realize the latest AIM is a must-have!
